Register for DVS Phase 2 (2024)

As of March 2021, all HGVs over 12T must have a Safety Permit to enter Greater London, regardless of their DVS star rating. Non-compliance can result in fines up to £550 per day, enforced 24/7 year-round.

The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) Phase 2 application opens on June 24, 2024. Submitting your application before this date means applying for DVS Phase 1, requiring reapplication before permit expiration.

To obtain a DVS Safety Permit for your HGVs over 12T, you must meet the minimum requirement of the ‘Phase 2’ of the DVS before the deadline of 28th October 2024. Once you have fitted the DVS 2024 – Progressive Safe System Kit, you must register with TFL to acquire start rating/compliance certification.

Register for DVS Phase 2 (2024) in 3 steps

  1. Fill in the operator contact details on the TFL website
  2. Upload photographs of your vehicles as evidence
  3. Submit your application and wait for 30 day for results
  4. A breakdown of DVS Applications Process

We recommend the DVS Kit Installers and Engineers fill in the form below when installing each kit and pass the form onto their client to ensure the client has all the right information in order to apply/registering for the DVS Compliance. It will also provide a peace a mind for both Engineer and the end customer, although not essential, we highly recommend this step is carried. Please find the form attached below.
