Description

A stepped cutting drill bit, also known as a step drill bit or a unibit, is a specialized drill bit that is designed to create holes with different diameters in a single operation. It is commonly used for sheet metal, thin materials, or applications where multiple hole sizes are needed.

The stepped cutting drill bit has a conical shape with multiple stepped levels or diameters along its length. Each step of the bit has a progressively larger diameter, allowing for the creation of holes of different sizes without the need for multiple drill bits or multiple drilling operations.

When using a stepped cutting drill bit, the operator typically starts with the smaller diameter step and gradually moves to larger steps to achieve the desired hole size. The drill bit is inserted into a drill chuck, and the drilling process is similar to that of a regular drill bit.
